Honey Bee Nucs

honey bee nucs

Our honey bee nucs are high quality and excellent value for money.

What do you get?

Four frames of bees.

  • One frame of honey and pollen
  • Three frames of healthy brood (eggs, larvae & sealed brood)
  • Bees to cover every frame
  • A young mated queen

What makes our honey bee nucs better?

Our bees are chemical free. We don’t use any chemical methods to control small hive beetle control.

We continuously monitor for disease and only use frames and bees from disease-free hives.

Our nucs have a young, well-mated queen that has been monitored for at least a month to ensure that she is laying well.

We grow our nucs in six frame nucleus hives for as long as it takes to ensure that the bees are suitable for sale.

Excess bees are shaken into the nuc to ensure they are strong, and we remove unsuitable or crooked frames for our use.

You get 8000 to 10 000 bees and a queen plus four full frames of honey, pollen and brood.  We don’t include stickies or frames of foundation.

Mt. Coramba Apiculture can deliver and install your nucleus hive into your equipment.

Our beekeeper is experienced and qualified.

The owner of Mt. Coramba Apiculture, Glenn Locke has years of experience as a recreational beekeeper.

Glenn has formal qualifications in beekeeping and has completed the Rear Queen Bees course in 2011 as well as the Honeybee Pests and Diseases course in 2012.

We sell queen bees.

Mt. Coramba Apiculture can also supply mated queen bees.  We graft from a Cordovan Italian breeder queen, and we are continually improving our drone stock for better disease resistance, gentleness and honey production.

Mt. Coramba Apiculture take biosecurity seriously.

We follow and comply with The Australian Honey Bee Industry Biosecurity Code of Practice.
